Welcome New Quakers!

Congratulations on your admission to the University of Pennsylvania! We are happy to welcome you to the on-campus community at Penn. Please use this website to learn more about the people and initiatives that make Lauder College House a home to 344 Quakers.

Lauder College House (LCH) opened in August 2016 (as "New College House") to 344 members of the Class of 2020. Those students came together as a community, led by a dedicated staff of Faculty, Graduate Associates and Resident Advisors, to begin contributing to a young but rich tradition of dialogue, support, and celebration in our house. The inaugural class of residents led us in the process of selecting the house motto: "Semper ad meliora" or "always onward toward better things." Our motto serves as a reminder to consistently challenge ourselves as individuals and as a community to learn, grow, and build on our strengths.

In 2017, LCH joined Stouffer, Gregory, and W.E.B. DuBois College Houses as a 4-Year Community and home to freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. We hope to welcome our freshmen and engage our upperclassmen through involvement opportunities, conversation, and social activities in the spirit of Global Citizenship and our values: leadership, diversity, sustainability, and research. During a celebration of our home in September 2019, President Amy Gutmann hosted the Lauder family and house residents past and present and officially named the building Lauder College House.

Our residents are the most important part of the LCH community. Your energy, ideas, and action contribute to a vibrant college house experience. You are essential to making LCH an extraordinary place to live and learn.

I hope you find our website informative and helpful as you make choices about on-campus housing. Visit the Housing website to access the room preference application. There is more to explore about College Houses & Academic Services as well! Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
