Surviving and Thriving: Brunch, Art, and Día de los muertos

What:

Please join Lauder College House for a two-part event on Saturday, October 29! (RSVP required at this link; please read below to learn more!)

Part 1: Catered Brunch & Art in Lauder

On Saturday, October 29, we will start at 11:00 AM with a Catered Brunch in the Dining Pavilion (room connected to the Lauder Dining Hall). If you join us for brunch, we ask that you join us in participating in an immersive art project that will include bulletin boards connected to the themes of surviving and thriving, as well as an altar in the spirit of Día de los muertos (Day of the Dead.)

Part 2: Museum Visit for CultureFest

Then immediately after the brunch and artwork, at 12:30 PM, we will chaperone anyone who wants to join to the Penn Museum (just a short walk from Lauder). That day, the Penn Museum is hosting a CultureFest to celebrate Día de los muertos. We hope you also join this walking trip to learn more about the holiday and to attend an event with music, an artisan market, an altar, a dance presentation, and more!

All Lauder residents are invited to the whole event, and it's free of charge. That said, we ask that you fill out this RSVP form to let us know:

1. If you plan to join the Catered Brunch and Artwork in the Lauder Dining Pavilion at 11:00 AM on Saturday 10/29;

2. Any dietary restrictions;

3. If you plan to join us for the walk to the Penn Museum CultureFest after the brunch/art (leaving Lauder at 12:30 PM)

Thanks to La Casa Latina for their support in organizing this event. We hope to see you there!
